Parkour by Alex
Imagine doing a sport that involves the person doing intense death jumps, flips and free style running.
My article is about people doing insane free style jumps and flips to impress people. Parkour is a sport that involves individuals doing intense jumping and flips. Pakour is a freestyle sport that not too many people practice. One major founder of Parkour is, David Belle. He motivated many young adults to practice Parkour because it is not an easy sport and requires great levels of motivation. Parkour began in the 1990s through similar movements that can be found in the eastern martial arts. Parkour has evolved from people going to the gym to running outside and doing dangerous moves that can be fatal. One example of an intense move is a running double back flip off a high obstacle and landing on the grown. Parkour is a sport that requires strength and a lot of motivation. Parkour is a worldwide known sport but not many people choose to do it because of the risks and injuries that can occur.

WHEN MMA STARTED
BY CHARLIE SANMARTIN
Imagine being in 648 B.C.E. when the Greeks introduced the sport of pankration into the Olympics. Pankration back in the Greek time is what we call MMA now but the rules are different. Pankration has no rules except to knock your opponent out and to submit you would have to raise your opponents hand or they just beat each other to death in an arena or a ring which is 12 to 14 feet big. In modern day MMA you fight in a ring or a cage and there are more rules; you can’t gouge eyes and no biting. In MMA it’s timed but Pankration was awesome it went for hours and didn’t go on points. Pankration is just like street fighting but it was an Olympic sport. In pankration it featured a referee armed with a rod or switch he used to enforce the rules which were often broken by oppnents that were overmatched. Ancient Greek pankratiasts were heroes and subject to numerous myths and legends. Arrichion, Dioxxipus, Polydamos, and Hercules were all pankratiast legends. Alexander the great looked for pankratiasts as soldiers to help him in his wars and they were his servants. In conclusion, pankration is now referred to as MMA they fight in a cage and sometimes a ring and they added belts.

DWAYNE WADE BY MATTHEW

Dwyane Tyrone Wade Jr. he was born on January 17,1982 in Chicago, Illinois. His parents split when he was young. They maintained a civil relationship so Dwyane and his sister could spend time with both of them. They went to church and his sister was very committed to it just as well as Dwyane is and still is today. In his early years he like sports like basketball and football and he never thought he would play professionally. It all started to change when he moved in with his father and his new wife and their three sons. His dad was a coach at the Blue Island Recreational Center and he brought Dwyane along when he would go. He would teach Dwyane the basics of the game. Now that his family is so into sports he loved basketball and wanted it to blossom. Their dad often challenge them to a 21 game which in=s every man for themselves. Then he started high school he played football and basketball. He made more of an impression on the football coaches than he did an the court. Dwyane led the varsity football team to a record of 28 wins 2 loses. For his basketball season as a sophomore he averaged 20.7 points and 7.6 rebounds a game. Some colleges were looking at him one specific college is the AAC Illinois Warriors they said that he would be the perfect fit on their team. When he was heading into his senior year he was averaging 27 points and 11 rebounds a game. There record that season was 24-5. Tom Crean gave Dwyane a chance by letting him practice on the freshmen time but he couldn’t play in any games. His first 5 game that he was able to play in college he averaged more than 20 points, 9 rebounds, and nearly 5 assist a game. He set a new record as a sophomore scoring 571 points that season. After college he was drafted on to the Miami Heat. His rookie year he was signed for 3 years $7 million. The Heat then lost its first seven games to open there season. He was starting to become a threat to the other teams that play against the Heat. Later on in his career he became one of the best players in the league in his position.

MW3 SUCCESS? BY ELIJAH

The Call of Duty series always had something new to offer. I guess this time it’s good enough. MW3 is getting critiqued with 0/10’s left and right. I’m here to resolve this issue with a positive review for once. From my point of view MW3 is a sophisticated FPS with nice campaign that ties in with COD 4 and COD MW2. This also includes the most popular feature in the game, Heart Pumping multiplayer with more prestiges you could get into a FPS.
There’s also a new feature to the prestiging. They are called Prestige coins. Prestige coins you can use to shop for double xp, or double weapon xp, and also weapons that you unlock to use throughout your ranking. MW3 also has special ops mode like MW2. Also, there’s a new feature that’s called “survival mode.” Survival mode is like the World at War Zombies and Black Ops. You and another person face up against waves of Dogs, Juggernauts, and Infantry. Survival mode has a separate ranking system compared to Multiplayer: you rank up to unlock kill streaks, perks, and weapons that aren’t in order. In conclusion, most criticize MW3 without even experiencing it. They are just basing their opinion off the other Call of Duty’s they have experienced.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA BY ISACH

What is The Legend of Zelda? The Legend of Zelda is one of the first Nintendo games made aside from Mario or Donkey Kong. In the 1980’s the Legend of Zelda is the first game in the series. The game also featured a second quest, which was harder than the original game play. The second game in this series that Nintendo developed was Zelda II: The Adventure of Link. In the 1990’s, A Link to the Past added an alternated dimension of the dark world to the gameplay. Eventually, Nintendo came out with The Ocarina of Time, which added a third dimension to the game. In the 2000’s Majoras Mask added time to the gameplay, meaning that players had a time limit to each day, and at the end of every day the time reset. Next, Zelda the Wind Waker was animated with cell-shaded animation, which also made it 3D. Nintendo has produced a lot of Zelda titles since the 1980’s and the series is still a gamer favorite.
